Landscape Crew Leader : $18-24 per hr

We are searching for a responsible, self-starter to be our new Landscape Crew Lead. The Landscape Crew Lead's responsibilities include overseeing the construction and installation of outdoor spaces and maintaining existing grounds. In addition, the Landscape Crew Lead will oversee the monitoring and training of workers, supervising the use of equipment, ensuring staff observes safety guidelines and protocols, and completing various administrative duties. You should also have leadership skills and sound knowledge of pesticides and chemicals.

To be successful as a Landscape Crew Lead, you should be able to both follow and provide instructions. A top-notch Landscape Crew Lead should constantly be expanding their horticulture knowledge, be a keen problem-solver, and possess remarkable communication skills.

This position has the potential for future growth.

Landscape Crew Lead Responsibilities:

  • Delegating tasks and overseeing the use of tools and equipment

  • Recruiting and training new crew members

  • Assessing progress and making recommendations

  • Ensuring all crew members obey health and safety regulations at all times

  • Assisting in landscape design

  • Ensure that the materials and elements are installed according to the design or plans

  • Overseeing the maintenance of lawns and gardens

  • Completing inventory checks and equipment inspections

  • Preparing spreadsheets and other documents

  • Assisting in preparing cost, material, equipment, and time estimates

  • Scheduling training sessions wherever required

Landscape Crew Lead Requirements:

  • High school diploma (degree in Horticulture recommended)

  • LA Horticulture Certificate a plus

  • Knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscaping

  • On-the-job training as a landscape crew member

  • Experience in a leadership role would be advantageous

  • Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions

  • Experience with artificial turf a plus

  • Experience with concrete pavers, ie holland stone a plus

  • Experience with drainage a big plus
